A Tsunami Called Naani will become the first book from Mango to be showcased at the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY). Ramendra Kumar, the author of the book has been invited to chair a session at the 36th edition of the event scheduled to be held at Athens, Greece from August 30–September 1, 2018. The book which has won many hearts continues to be amongst the best reads for the year.
A Tsunami Called Naani talks at length about the differently abled, a topic that most of us shy away from him. Their success and integration into the mainstream sends a positive message to young readers. The story within the story when the children enact the story of a Pakistani girl being brought up by an Indian family is about our difficult neighbour. A highly charged and politically topic is handled with grace and compassion.
Ramendra Kumar is an award-winning writer with 30 books to his name. His repertoire includes satire, poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
