Acclaimed writer M.Mukundan comes with a continuation to his previous title ‘Kuda Nannakunna Choyi’ under the title ‘Nrutham Cheyunna Kutakal’.
The new novel is a repentance made by the writer to what he did to the protagonist Madhavan towards the climax. Madhavan was a symbol of secularism but towards the end he was portrayed as a person who holds the spirit of being a Hindu.
Such a transformation was not acceptable by the readers and they conveyed it to the author through continuous phone calls and letters. This has made the author to rethink whether what he did was right or wrong, which gave birth to this new title.
An atheist during the early years and eventually changing to the status of a devotee- the story of Madhavan starts here.
Madhavan is guilty for changing the content of the letter when he read it out after Choyi’s death. His mind is disturbed, and he is becoming more humane and the new novel portrays his love interest too.
To write a continuous novel is not a usual practice,Even though after ‘Mayyazhi Puzhayude Theerangalil’, Mukundan wrote ‘Daivathinte Vikruthikal’ only the backdrop remained the same but never the story. This is a rare case and it is sure to take readers to a new level of thinking.
