Graphic designer turned calligrapher Narayana Bhattathri popularly known as Artist Bhattathiri, will represent India at the International Calligraphy Exhibition to be held at San Francisco from June 7 to August 30, 2019. The sixth edition of the Annual International Exhibition selected Artist Bhattathiri’s works titled Levalesham from over 250 submissions from around the world.
Calligraphies in Conversation, initiated in 2012 includes a series of events like calligraphy demonstration, workshops which allow the exchange of different practices in calligraphy. Bhattathiri started his career in Kala Kaumudi. Working in an underexplored creative wing, Artist Bhattathiri has created his own niche with his magical strokes in Malayalam language. During his tenure in magazines, he drew titles for various novels such as O V Vijayan’s Pravachakante Vazhi, M Mukundan’s Daivathinte Vikrutikal, Malayatoor Ramakrishnan’s Aaram Viral and has worked in movies as well.
