“The largest book fair in the Spanish speaking world”, Guadalaraja International Bookfair is an annual cultural event held annually in Mexico from November 30 to December 8. Aimed at professionals and the general public alike, it is a forum for academic discussion and business. A cultural festival where authors across the world participate, India is this year’s guest of honour.
India, with a dedicated pavilion, will showcase over 35 Indian authors and artists along with 15 publishing houses. Literary and academic activities, an art exhibition along with an event, “Festival of India” will showcase folk, classical and contemporary cultural programs will be a part of the nine-day long line-up.
The art exhibition will feature art by 40 renowned Indian women artists including Arpana Caur, Paula Sengupta, and Seema Kohli. The film festival at the event will show movies
like Dangal, Chennai Express, and Omkara.
