Indica: A Deep Natural History of Indian Subcontinent, written by a biochemist turned geologist Pranay Lal translated to Malayalam by Suresh MG was launched at DCSMAT Vagamon on June 5, 2019. Mr. Lal was here at the DCSMAT campus to deliver the keynote address as a part of World Environment Day. The event came to him as a surprise, and he said that it was an unexpected gift.
A microscopic and extensive study on the natural history of the Indian subcontinent conducted over twenty years is depicted through an engaging narrative in this book. Pranay Lal on the launch of his book here spoke about his fascination with rocks that contains layers of history. Indica is a book that would awaken the curiosity in every reader and would begin to look at things we take for granted differently, said the speaker. The book creates awareness about critically important regions that are fast disappearing due to human activities.
