Out of over three hundred speakers expected to attend the fifth edition, Kerala Literature Festival has revealed the panelists headlining this year. With Environment and Climate Change as the central theme, this edition will see a blend of environmentalists, academicians, literature luminaries, diplomats and artists. The changing dynamics of the nature and the space will be an enriching exchange of words and ideas between national and international luminaries.
The first list of diverse speakers includes the environmentalist Madhav Gadgil who will make his debut appearance at the festival. Vandana Shiva, who coined her thoughts on fossil fuel economy and the fossilized thoughts that came along, at the third edition, will return to KLF after a gap of two years. Navroz K Dubash, the Chapter Lead Author at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will make his debut at the fest.
The fifth edition of KLF with Tamil as the literature in focus will host Perumal Murugan, Dr. S Revathy and T.M. Krishna to give us a wider picture of the classical and the oldest living language in India.
Shashi Tharoor, Rajdeep Sardesai, Navdeep Singh Suri makes to the roll of diplomats, and media personalities garnering the list. Pranay Lal, the author of Indica and Chetan Bhagat will also be returning to the festival.
Slovene poet, writer and musician Cvetka Bevc will be a part of the fest.
Among the historians who would provide us with echoes from the past would be William Dalrymple, Sunil P Ilayidom, Manu S Pillai, and Vikram Sampath.
Benyamin, Ravichandran. C and K.R. Meera are the others among the Malayalam authors unveiled in the first list of speakers.
The four day literature festival scheduled from January 16th – 19th 2020, will be held at the Kozhikode beach.
