Mind on Fire, the memoir of the Baburao Mahtre Medal recipient architect S. Gopakumar will be launched by Shri. T.P. Sreenivasan, former ambassador and permanent representative of India to the United Nations. The ceremony will be conducted by Indian Institute of Architects Trivandrum Center on 26th January, 2021 at 5.00 pm.
The book is a journey of Ar. S.Gopakumar describing the agony and ecstasy of starting a professional architects office, when such a profession was not even known much to the general public. It also takes you on a ride through the initial stages of architectural education in Kerala.
Architect S. Gopakumar narrates the art of architecture, flanked by moments and the many tales behind the familiar structures that continue to awe us, reminding us gently that no creation is final and no design is perfect.
Experiences with Charles Correa and Laurie Baker makes an interesting and inspiring part in the book. It gives an insight into managing a professional firm engaged in the field of architecture, interiors and landscape which are truly beneficial to students and young architects too.
