UN recognized 21st March as the International Day of Forest, in association with the same auspicious day, DCSMAT decided to organize a Marathon along the valley of Vagamon to raise awareness on how significant forests are for the survival of the planet earth and the related ecosystems.
DCSMAT located in the hill station of Kerala-Vagamon has realized the dreadful future the deforestation can bring forth thereby the college known to take many strong stands against many social and cultural evils is taking a step further to Protect forest cover and thereby protect mother earth.
The attention need to be brought to this alarming decrease of forest cover for that a marathon will be held on 21st March Tuesday by 6am starting from the Vagamon town to DCSMAT campus covering a distance of 11 kilometers. With Rs250 the registration can be completed. The prize money for 11 km is Rs10000 and Rs5000 and for covering 5km the prize money is Rs5000 and Rs 3000.
Come join hands to raise awareness against deforestation and the benefits of forests for the very survival of every living being on the planet with the simple act of unity.
