Kerala Literature Festival in its fifth edition brings to you Asia’s best standup comedian Papa C.J and the millennial rage Anuradha Menon.
Before the advent of social media, You Tube and the millions of songs that we now listen to without interruptions, there was a time one glued to the television. For someone who grew up in the nineties, Lolakutty was a rage and Papa CJ had been the face of an evolving comedy scene. They created a niche for themselves even before the ecosystem was prepared for it. One is now well acquainted with the wide spectrum of thoughts that standup acts offer. The unpalatable realities laced in humour gives one room to laugh, think and connect with the situation one has been through.
Termed as Asia’s and India’s best standup comedian, Papa CJ is the global face of Indian stand up. Renowned for his shows like Naked, he has also released his memoir titled the same this year. Widely known by a name redolent of her past, Anuradha Menon aka Lolakutty who still continues to charm us through her quirky standup acts will be in conversation at the literature fest.
With the drastic change in the climate around us scientifically and otherwise, the four day long literature festival scheduled from January 16 – 19 2020, will be a stage that would discover the different dynamics of voices which we are familiar with.
