Punjab is known not only for its rich agriculture background but also for patriots. The state has an impressive history on the same. By keeping this in mind the state has organised the country’s first Military Literature Festival(MLF) from December 7 to 9 in Chandigarh. The news was disclosed by Punjab tourism and culture minister Navjot Singh Sidhu.
“The event is aimed at invoking the feeling of sacrifice, which Punjab had a great history of among today’s youth. Youngsters, therefore, would be a key target audience of the festival, with special programmes designed to reach out to them,’ said Sidhu.
“Punjab is home to several decorated soldiers, including Param Vir Chakra awardees and the festival will be an apt and glowing tribute to the grit, courage and fearless determination of the country’s defence personnel, said the minister. Senior advisor to Punjab CM Lt. Gen. T S Shergill said the main event will be preceded by many curtain raisers to build the momentum for the grand finale” added Sidhu.
