Today is the ‘Wildlife Warrior’ Steve Irwin’s birth anniversary. Born in Melbourne, Australia, his close association with animals and nature began early in his childhood. He grew up with the animals in the Beerwah Reptile Park later renamed as Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park, started by his parents. Involved in all aspects of managing the park, he also volunteered in East Coast Crocodile management program. He was the host of the television series’ ‘The Crocodile Hunter’.
He was a passionate environmentalist and conservationist, who worked for endangered animals. His passion was nurtured by being exposed to his choice of interest. If you are passionate about conservation grab a copy of our book, The Endangered Animals of India, available in our online store.
